CYCLE OF INSPECTION
Some of the Certificates are valid 5 years and are subject to follow the cycle of inspection:
- Initial Inspection is the first inspection carry out to the vessel by an organization
- Renewal Inspection is the inspection carry out 3 months before the expiration of the Full Term Certificate
- Annual visits is the inspection carry out every year to the ship 3 months before or after the ANNIVERSARY DATE
- Anniversary Date is the date of the expiration of the Full Term Certificate and is calculated on bases of the latest dry dock of the vessel, and never exceed 5 years, and for the annual visits the DAY and the MONTH of the Anniversary Date is used
SOCIETIES AUTHORIZED TO ISSUED TECHNICAL CERTIFICATES
- Panama Shipping Registrar, Inc.
- Bureau Veritas (IACS)
- Lloyd’s Register (IACS)
- American Bureau of Shipping (IACS)
- International Naval Survey Bureau (INSB)
- Registro Italiano Navale (RINA)
- etc.
These are agencies dully authorized by the Panamanian administration to inspect and issue technical certificates on behalf of the Government of Panama.
DRYDOCKING
Every 2 years, prior to the issue of the new certificate, vessels shall be put in drydock and undergo a thorough examination of all under water and overside parts.
